In Wiltshire, sunshine and lush landscapes have garnered attention recently, however, there was also a local election taking place with visits to the polling booths.
Until June 1st, the National Trust’s Mompesson House, located within Salisbury’s Cathedral Close, is presenting its Blossom Festival.
Even though temperatures have dropped recently, various areas throughout the county enjoyed intense sunlight for most of the week.
Charity event with tractors: Over 300 tractors and 4×4 vehicles participated in a special road run across Salisbury Plain to support the Stars Appeal, which benefits Salisbury Hospital. This initiative was organized as part of the Berwick St John Country Fayre.
Coate Water Park in Swindon drew numerous birds during the warm weather this week, with this image captured by Jeremy Stern illustrating the scene.
Relocating them: This week, the lemurs at Longleat got an opportunity to bask in the sunshine. One of them seemed to be either examining its paw or engaging in some stretches.
Academic excellence highlighted: Two elementary institutions in Swindon – East Wichel and Rodbourne Cheney – have made it onto the list for Primary School of the Year at the Tes education accolades. Pupils from Year Four at East Wichel ventured outside to bask in the sunshine during their celebration.
Sunny weather: The photographer Stormchaser Al captured this beautiful shot in Horningsham, a village that forms part of the Longleat estate.
A sea of yellow: Numerous fields in Wiltshire are currently blanketed with rapeseed, casting a vibrant golden hue across the landscape. This picturesque view was documented by Weather Watcher Naddervalley in the village of Chilmark, located in southern part of the region.
Election day: among the numerous polling stations available for this week’s local elections, one was located at Malmesbury library. The site stood out thanks to its inviting atmosphere, enhanced by decorative flowers alongside the signage.
