It’s day three of Star Wars Week in downtown Panama City.
Many local enterprises and groups are participating in the “May the fourth be with you” event.
“Tonight marks our inaugural event for the immersive Star Wars cantina at the Panama City Center for the Arts. The main gallery has been transformed into an authentic-looking Star Wars cantina complete with decorations. Thanks to CBC Construction, complimentary soft drinks will be served through the drink dispensers. It promises to be quite an evening. Attendees can expect encounters with Star Wars cosplayers as well as roaming droids—ideal for all fans of the franchise,” stated Jayson Kretzer, Executive Director of Bay Arts Alliance.
“This marks our first venture into hosting an immersive experience for Star Wars; previously, all events were held outdoors under intense heat conditions. Now, however, we’re moving indoors where the environment will be climate-controlled, complemented by appealing props and stunning visual projections. Consequently, participants feel truly enveloped within the universe of Star Wars, offering something uniquely engaging,” explained Kretzer.
“The Point Break Arcade hosts pinball competitions and various events,” Kretzer mentioned additionally.
“All the companies have joined in and aligned themselves with this trend, and it has truly been wonderful,” Kretzer stated.
“There are a few charities that benefit from this event. The Bay Arts Alliance is one such organization; we’re an arts group based downtown and manage the Center for the Arts. Therefore, much of the funds raised tonight will support our programs. Additionally, we have the 501st Legion present,” Kretzer mentioned.
“The 501st Legion is a cosplay group focused solely on sharing Star Wars enthusiasm. They operate without payment, driven purely by their affection and zeal for it. So, we will gather funds to donate to a charity selected by them,” Kretzer mentioned additionally.
Should you miss this evening’s exhibition, it will also be accessible on Saturday.
