Friday evening saw the Wall Street Journal reveal that United Airlines plans to discontinue 35 daily round-trip services from the airport starting as soon as this weekend. This accounts for roughly 10 percent of the carrier’s usual 328 daily round trips at the airport, making it the 14th busiest facility nationally based on previous year statistics, as stated in the article.

“Newark Airport isn’t equipped to manage the volume of flights planned for the coming weeks and months,” CEO Scott Kirby stated in a post on the website.
