Paperwork needed for obtaining a North Carolina REAL ID
A single document that verifies your identity along with your date of birth, like a birth certificate or an active U.S. passport, should be provided.
A single document verifying your complete Social Security number (such as a Social Security card, Form 1099 for taxes, or a W-2 form displaying both your name and SSN).
Two pieces of documentation confirming your residence in North Carolina (such as utility bills, voter registration forms) are required.
Evidence of valid liability coverage (this is not necessary for just an ID card)
If relevant, please include one or more documents confirming any name changes such as a marriage license or divorce decree.
For individuals who are not citizens, one document verifying their legal presence or lawful status is required.
