Just after 8 p.m., the authorities updated their Facebook page, urging locals to steer clear of the Celanese area as they announced that all through traffic was currently prohibited.
The Rome Police Department reported that numerous trees fell during the storm, obstructing streets and causing power lines to collapse. By 9 p.m., around 2,300 customers in the region had lost electricity.
