Beginning May 4, the Battleship Texas Foundation will provide special tours each Sunday in May and June. Known as the Normandy Tour, this event requires reservations and highlights the vessel’s involvement in the World War II D-Day operation at Normandy.
Tours of Battleship Texas are now available to the public.
The USS Texas is the only surviving battleship that took part in the invasion.
Attendees can anticipate spending around two hours aboard the vessel and must be ready to navigate multiple steep staircases. Hard hats and safety goggles are mandatory due to ongoing renovation activities on the ship.
The tickets cost $100, and the money collected will be used directly for the restoration of the historic vessel.
