Despite
growing concerns over immigration enforcement,
the
Cinco de Mayo festival
has returned toPortland’s waterfront.
This celebration marks Mexico’s triumph at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. It is primarily observed in the United States.
This year celebrates the 38th annual event organized by The Portland Guadalajara Sister City Association. The festival includes over 40 food stalls, a carnival, and live mariachi performances among other attractions.

the city’s waterfront
Throughout the entire weekend, the festival schedule is brimming with activities ranging from a boxing competition to an automobile exhibition. In between these events, you can leisurely walk around the venue to explore various artworks and knick-knacks available for purchase.
This event takes pride in offering a bilingual experience suitable for all ages. Children have the opportunity to participate in numerous carnival games with the aim of winning big plush toys. Meanwhile, adults can buy an extensive selection of margaritas at the beverage stands.
You’re welcome to participate in the festivities from Friday, May 2, through Sunday, May 4, 2025, between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m., and on Monday, May 5, from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m., all taking place at Tom McCall Waterfront. Admission prices begin at $11 for children and $16 for adults.
