American Airlines Boosts Service Between Charleston and NYC

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCND) — Passengers passing through Charleston International Airport are set to enjoy additional choices for reaching New York City shortly.

Starting September 3, American Airlines will commence two daily flights to New York’s LaGuardia Airport, with intentions to increase this schedule to three flights each day beginning November 3.

The path will incorporate both Embraer E170 and E175 planes, which are regional jets capable of accommodating anywhere from 76 to 88 travelers based on how they are set up.

The Charleston International Airport CEO, Elliot Summey, referred to the announcement as a “significant victory” for both the city and the broader area.

He stated, ‘An increase in flights to New York provides more choices for both our business and leisure passengers, along with stronger ties for our regional economy.’ He added, ‘We’re delighted to witness American Airlines expand its dedication to Charleston, thereby strengthening our airport’s position as an essential transport center in the Southeast.’

American Airlines is Charleston’s biggest airline, with 25 flights departing each day to seven different destinations.

“Regardless of whether you’re heading to New York City for your travels or using one of our other entry points to over 350 global destinations worldwide, we eagerly anticipate greeting passengers aboard our planes,” stated Jordan Pack, who leads the airline’s domestic network strategy.

Tickets for the upcoming service will be accessible beginning May 5th.
