Akron-Canton Airport Set for New Direct Flights to Chicago

GREEN − American Airlines will soon add to the Akron-Canton Airport’s nonstop service to Chicago.

According to reports, the airline plans to initiate two daily flights starting from October 6th.

. United Airlines now offers the only nonstop service to Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

“This service is a win for both business and leisure travelers, offering nonstop access to a leading global hub,” Ren Camacho, airport president and CEO, said in a prepared statement. “We’re proud to strengthen our partnership with American as we expand travel options for our region.”

American Airlines also operates nonstop flights from Akron-Canton to Washington, D.C., and Charlotte, North Carolina. The new flights will depart Akron-Canton Airport for Chicago at 6:45 a.m. and 5:20 p.m., and flights from Chicago to Akron-Canton will leave at 2 p.m. and 7:05 p.m.

Among the various new routes introduced for Chicago-based passengers are flights to Akron-Canton and Chicago. Other newly announced destinations include Curacao, St. Croix, St. Maarten, Guatemala City, San Jose in Costa Rica, and Roanoke in Virginia.

American is excited to introduce direct flights from Akron-Canton to our Chicago O’Hare hub,” stated Jordan Pack, American’s director of domestic network planning, in a pre-prepared statement. “By adding to our current services to Charlotte and Washington, D.C., this new route will simplify travel for passengers heading to Midwestern and Western U.S. destinations like Minneapolis and Seattle, along with our newly launched service to Honolulu, Hawaii.
