Many folks concur that traveling has changed significantly nowadays. Busy airports, frequent postponements, and tight spaces have become standard practice, transforming potentially memorable journeys into experiences quickly consigned to oblivion. Fortunately, private jet companies offer an alternative.
Aero
is here to shift the dialogue.

The L.A.-based brand launched in the U.S. in 2021, focusing on flights from L.A.’s Van Nuys Airport to leisure destinations like Napa, the Coachella Valley and Los Cabos. It has since expanded to Park City, Sun Valley and Aspen, and more recently, to Las Vegas and New York.

I recently took the flight from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, and throughout the journey, everything went smoothly and included several delightful surprises. Upon arriving at Aero’s exclusive lounge at Van Nuys Airport and handing over my vehicle for valet parking, I stepped into an environment that felt more akin to a high-end members’ club rather than your average airport setting. A staff member promptly presented me with a glass of Veuve Clicquot as soon as I entered.
The interior design showcased various artworks and photographs lining the walls. There were also plenty of upscale magazines and coffee-table books available for browsing. What stood out most was the fully-stocked pantry offering treats from Erewhon—a local health food store known for quality products. Settling down comfortably in one of their plush seats made me realize how much I wished I could have spent extra time enjoying this luxurious atmosphere beforehand.
Given our status as private fliers, passengers are encouraged to reach the venue approximately twenty minutes prior to takeoff so they can make full use of these amenities.

After boarding the 16-passenger plane, indulgence persists. During this 40-minute flight, you can choose dishes from the menu featuring Erewhon specialties such as Asian chicken salad, smoked salmon tartine, and strawberry overnight oats. You also have access to charming onboard amenities and an open bar for beverages. Additionally, high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi ensures that staying productive or enjoying your preferred shows during the journey remains effortless.

Following a seamless touchdown in Las Vegas, we make our way to the destination.
Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas
Aero has partnered with several hotels in different areas where their guests receive special rates for flying with Aero. These partnerships include options like the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Los Cabos at Costa Palmas, Hotel Jerome in Aspen, Solage Resort & Spa in Calistoga, or Stanly Ranch in Napa through Aero’s Fly and Stay package deals.
While Las Vegas might be appealing, gambling isn’t really my thing; thus, I prefer staying at the Waldorf Astoria, one of only a handful of properties on the Strip without a casino. This choice offers numerous advantages such as access to an exceptional spa, luxurious accommodations, and the newly refurbished 23rd floor featuring the chic Peacock Alley bar along with Hard Shake—a stylish spot known for its handcrafted cocktails offering stunning vistas of Las Vegas Boulevard.

Over the coming two days, I completely unwind at the spa; enjoy meals and cocktail sips at Mother Wolf, Sadelle’s, and Delilah (which stands out—loved its vintage Las Vegas charm and fantastic cuisine); raise our glasses at BleauBar inside Fountainbleu; let loose singing and dancing during a Janet Jackson show; and browse through the beautiful shops at The Shops at Crystals. Our party, here for the Super Bowl, watches the major event from a reserved spot in Tao Group Hospitality’s Marquee Dayclub. The atmosphere over this period was exceptional and reignites my passion for Sin City.

After the match, I head back to my place in Los Angeles just one-and-a-half hours post-takeoff. The absence of usual airport chaos significantly enhances the journey—the comfort provided by Aero flights and their lounges makes everything so much better. Despite not being inclined towards gambling, it typically took considerable persuasion for me to visit Las Vegas. However, thanks to Aero and all its perks, I might find myself going there more often than expected.
